TEPARY BEAN (Phaseolus acutifolius) (100-120 days) - Kansas White found us at a seed swap in Kansas City. It is the first tepary that we planted in Kansas and it has not done us wrong. It looks similar to the Emerald Snow variety, but this one wrinkles more when it dries. Best to not water these at all. Space these out well when growing as the airflow is necessary to reduce bacterial and fungal damage to the seeds. Tepary beans, domesticated and grown in the Sonoran Desert for thousands of years, are among the most drought and heat tolerant crops in the world, are delicious.
