TEPARY BEAN (Phaseolus acutifolius) (100-120 days)(25 seeds)—Collected from a market in New Fields, Arizona, in the late 1960's has a vining habit, but doesn't really climb. The color is ranges from yellow to speckled tan. The size of the beans are nice and they displayed little damage from humidity. Best to not water these at all as they do better with minimal water. Space these out well when growing as the airflow is necessary to reduce bacterial and fungal damage to the seeds. Tepary beans, domesticated and grown in the Sonoran Desert for thousands of years, are among the most drought and heat tolerant crops in the world, are delicious.
