COMMON BEAN (Phaseolus vulgaris) (65-100 days)(30 or 80 seeds)— This heirloom variety of pole bean is said to have been introduced to North America via the Mayflower in 1620. Since then it has been commonly grown in the Carolinas. We have been growing this population in Kansas for several years now and it hasn't let us down. The small squarish bean is white with red speckles, are full of flavor, can be eaten as a green bean or dry bean, and the flavor is among the best.
